Overview of Japan
Japan (also named Nippon, Nihon, Nipponkoku, or Nihonkoku) is a group of islands located in East Asia.
The four main islands are Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu.
The main islands have groups of associated islands, consisting of the Nansei Islands, Izu Islands, Ogasawara Islands and others.
Japan is the only country that has been attacked during World War II with atomic bombs (Hiroshima, Nagasaki)
Each year there are many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions because there are four tectonic plates in the vicinity of Japan.
Since the Asuka period in the sixth and seventh century, Japan started adopting the culture of the continent and improving it to be make it more suitable for the Japanese society.
In that way, Japan has created a unique culture.
For the Japanese language, Kanji have been transmitted from the continent, Kun readings have been attached to it, and Hiragana and Katakana have been added based on Kanji.
One of the attractions out of the Japanese culture that gets much attention worldwide is “Anime”.
The animation “Pocket Monster” was televised in 68 countries, and screened in 46 countries.
The worldwide film box office income reaches $ 280 million.
